Well, a few questions were answered this week ...
- the baby IS Ethan
- Sun and Frank WERE the ones who stole the boat
- the plane did LAND on the other island (it didn't break up in the sky like Oceanic 816)
- why didn't Sun disappear from the plane with the rest of the O6?
- what are they going to do with Sayid?
- and did the preview hint that Sayid is planning to kill child-Ben?
- does Phil suspect something is going on with "LaFleur" and the "new recruits"?
- what happened to Faraday?
- how are Sun and Frank going to get back in time?
- Sawyer: "It's 1977." Hurley: "Oh ... what?"
- Sun whacking Ben with the oar - oh yeah!
- Dr. Change to Jack: "Based on your aptitude test you'll be doing janitorial work."
And did anyone else expect to see Faraday come of that door and not Christian in that scene at present-day Dharma with Sun and Frank?
Post the link to your recap/analysis in Mr. Linky below. I'm looking forward to everyone's opinions this week. One question for you ... was this episode worth the two-week-wait?
I forgot to mention this in my recap, but the runway Ajira 316 "lands" on ... that IS the same runway The Others had Sawyer and Kate working on, right? I'm guessing that kid-Ben finds out about the future crash and that's why he builds the runway ... what do you think?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worth it - one question - where are Bernard, Rose, the dog, and the other losties that were on the island but not running around with Sawyers group. Have they joined the hostiles?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I forgot about those guys ... where in the HECK are they? It's sort of like the kids from the original crash - we never did figure out where THEY went once The Others took them, did we?
ReplyDeletewhy didn't Sun disappear from the plane with the rest of the O6?
ReplyDelete- one theory I've seen is that Locke didn't invite her back to the island, therefore isn't welcome
and did the preview hint that Sayid is planning to kill child-Ben?
- wouldn't that mess up the space-time continuum or something? where's Doc Brown when you need him
does Phil suspect something is going on with "LaFleur" and the "new recruits"?
- I think he's going to die after he blows their cover, Jack is going to kill him
what happened to Faraday?
- many think he's lost his marbles, but I think he's dead, despite how much I like him
how are Sun and Frank going to get back in time?
- and THAT, is the HUGE question I want to know the answer to, turn the donkey wheel again? kill Christian? What about Claire? where did she go?
"one theory I've seen is that Locke didn't invite her back to the island, therefore isn't welcome" - ah, that would make sense ... good theory.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting point was raised at What's Alan Watching:
ReplyDeleteIf the name Radzinsky (the guy running The Flame and building the scale model of The Swan, aka the hatch) sounds familiar, it's because Kelvin spent a lot of time telling Desmond about him during the flashbacks in the season two finale, "Live Together, Die Alone." He had been Kelvin's partner at The Swan before Desmond, and painted the map of all the Dharma stations on the blast doors. Assuming that one of The Others didn't assume Radzinsky's name after the purge, then The Swan was still technically under Dharma control in the 21st century, which might help explain why Dharma planes were still doing supply drops after the Oceanic 815 crash.

Did anyone else notice this? 'Cause I certainly didn't.
Thanks Heather - I just discovered your blogs as I searched for other people that are blogging about Lost. It's fun hearing what other people figure out each week that I've missed!
ReplyDeleteKacie
Ah! I thought I left a comment earlier, but evidently it didn't go through, and I can't remember what I said! I really love the theory about Sun not being invited back by Locke; it seems simple and straightforward, but still sneaky enough to be plausible for Lost.
ReplyDeleteI did expect Faraday to come though the door rather than Christian. I don't know why, but since he was "missing," it seemed like a likely place for him to turn up. What I think may have happened, is that Faraday may have returned to the mainland on the sub offered to the rest of the crew. Maybe he's back in Oxford, or San Fransisco working in a lab. Maybe HE was the "clever individual" who built the Lamppost!
Did you all go to the link that The Lost Diary posted:

Look at the page title on your browser!
I thought the place Christian led them looked like the old cabin where we last saw Claire. The show got all eerie just before.
I can't imagine Faraday would die because isn't it his mum who sent everyone back, and seems to be the 'all knowing' person. She could stop his death, don't you think?
I loved seeing Sawyer smile so much in this show. And his southern accent seemed more prevalent than I've heard before. Just a treat to see him. I hope he doesn't leave Juliet for Kate.
Oh, and of course I want to know what book Sawyer was reading! I did a little searching online with no results. The book was small, that's all I saw. I loved the Churchill reference. I read that Theodore Roosevelt and his wife read a book a day as well. Amazing. And people say they have no time to read. :<)
ReplyDeleteNan - yes, I definitely saw SOMETHING in that link ... not sure who that is supposed to be, but SOMETHING is up.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you last comment about people reading.
Did anyone else have better luck figuring out what book Sawyer was reading?!
I just learn things by reading everyone's comments. Forgot about Claire, but yes where are Vincent and Rose and the rest of the beach people? Are they with the Others, the ones that don't age?
ReplyDeleteAhhh so many questions.
